Woman Killed in Raccoon Valley Road Crash

A 45 year old woman was killed when a wrecker crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into her vehicle Tuesday afternoon on Raccoon Valley Road at Naff Road.  Randi Denise Murray of 601 Raccoon Valley Road died at the scene of the 1:07 crash.  A wrecker from Quality in Oak Ridge driven by Denver Berry was going Eastbound and crossed into oncoming traffic.  Officers are still investigating why.  Berry was transported by ambulance to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

 Murray was driving a Ford Expedition and was wearing her seatbelt.

 
KCSO Explorer Post Competes in Annual Winterfest

Knox County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Post competed in the 2008 Winterfest in Gatlinburg over the weekend.

Fifteen members of the KCSO Explorer Post competed in five events and took first place in Bomb Threat Response.  The group also placed third out of 14 teams for Hostage Negotiation.  They also placed in other competitions including DUI, Uniform Inspection, and High Risk Warrants.

Third generation Officer Andrew Todd Wilson with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office died early Saturday morning in a tragic one-vehicle accident on Asheville Highway near Governor John Sevier Highway.
