Knife-Wielding Suspect Arrested

The man wanted for robbing the Bread Box in West Knox County early Wednesday morning is in the Knox County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond for aggravated robbery.  In a joint investigation with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, officers with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office took 42 year old Douglas Graham into custody Friday afternoon and turned him over to the KCSO.  Graham will be charged in Anderson County for parole violation.  He had served time in prison for numerous aggravated robbery charges and was on parole at the time of Wednesday’s robbery.

Graham threatened a clerk at the Hardin Valley convenience store with a knife and demanded money from the cash register.  He fled with the money and two packs of cigarettes.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed the BreadBox at 10636 Hardin Valley Road early Wednesday morning.  The suspect held a knife to the clerk and demanded money from the register.  He fled with an undetermined amount of money and two packs of cigarettes.  The clerk was not injured during the 1:43 a.m. incident.

 

The suspect is identified as white, 30-40 years old, medium build, 5”8’, 200 pounds, and brown hair. It’s believed he left the scene in a maroon or red Ford pickup truck.

 

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 215-2243.

 
Grocery Store Clerk Turns Away Would-Be Robber

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted robbery at the Ingles Grocery Store at 7466 Oak Ridge Highway.  The cashier said the male suspect came in at 11:54 p.m., Monday, and told him he had a gun and demanded money from the register.  The clerk refused to empty the cash register because he said he did not see a weapon.  The suspect ran from the store with the cashier following him.  He said the suspect fled in a small black car.

 

The suspect is described as heavy-set, weighing around 250 pounds, approximately 5’10”, scruffy beard, dark hair, wearing jeans, and a gray t-shirt with a black Adidas logo.  He was also wearing a white ball cap with some kind of design on it. 

 

KCSO detectives are working with the Knoxville Police Department to see if the suspect is involved with any overnight armed robberies in the city.  Anyone with information is asked to call the KCSO at 215-2243.

 
 
Outstanding Warrants Net 42 Arrests in Two Week Period

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Crime Task Force, Warrants, and School Officers conducted a two week round-up of both adults and juveniles with outstanding charges.  From July 6-17, they tracked down and arrested 17 adults for a total of 29 charges and 25 juveniles with a total of 33 charges.  The officers worked with the Postal Inspector and KUB to find correct addresses.  Among the adults, the most serious charges included child abuse and neglect, failure to appear, and violations of probation.  For the juveniles, one was arrested for rape of a child, one for aggravated robbery, and one for aggravated sexual battery.

 

The round-up had targeted 60 people for outstanding warrants and officers will continue to look for the remaining 18.
