Mascot Man Shoots at Family Members
Wednesday, 23 April 2008
Forty-eight year old Timothy Lee Sellers was arrested Tuesday night and charged with aggravated assault. The charge stemmed from an incident shortly after 9 p.m. at his parents’ house at 1018 Union School Road in Mascot. According to the warrant, Sellers’ mother, Katherine Sellers, said he had been drinking beer and taking prescription medication for three days. Sellers became angry and got a rifle from his parents’ bedroom and put the barrel of the rifle to his father’s head and threatened to kill him. His mother fled the house with her three year old great granddaughter. Sellers fired two rounds at the two when they were outside. Neither was injured. Seller’s father, Jesse Sellers, was unable to leave the house for health reasons.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was called to the scene because Sellers has a history of aggravated assault and other charges in his criminal history. He was arrested without incident when his father alerted officers that he taken the gun away when Sellers fell asleep on the couch. He is being held in the Knox County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
