 The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Communications Unit currently provides additional dispatch personnel within the Knox County Emergency Communications District E-911 center.
Communications personnel dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for service received on 911 or non-emergency agency phone numbers and entered into a computer by KCECD call processors.
Communications personnel are responsible for dispatching calls to patrol, traffic and detective divisions as well as receiving calls from field personnel such as warrants and transportation units and field initiated calls such as traffic stops.
