A man entered the Community South Bank, located at 11543 Kingston Pike, shortly after eleven a.m. this morning, and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied with the note, but was able to press the alarm button, alerting authorities to the robbery. The man was described as a white male, 5’11”, husky build, wearing a white dress shirt, black dress pants, red tie, red suspenders and sunglasses. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
At 11:55 a.m., a call came into E-911 from the O’Charleys in Turkey
Creek Shopping Center, and was dispatched to KPD. When officers
arrived, they were told that an employee became suspicious of a male
and female that entered together and went straight into the men’s
restroom, leaving together shortly afterwards. The man left with a
shaved head. The male had a backpack with him, and is described as a
white male with very red skin wearing a gray t-shirt with a pink and
white design on the right back shoulder. The female is described as a
white female in her late 30’s – early 40’s, approximately 5’5” tall and
weighing 140 pounds, with dirty blonde long hair, wearing gray
sweatpants and a dark blue hooded sweatshirt. A plastic bag with
clothes that match the original suspect description from the bank was
found in the bathroom garbage, along with hair clippings.
The FBI and the KCSO are working in collaboration on this
investigation. Surveillance photos from Community South Bank of the
male suspect are posted with this story. If anyone has information
about this incident, they are asked to please contact the Knox County
Sheriff’s Office at 215-2432.
