A U.T. Student was killed and another injured in a one car crash early Saturday morning.

Twenty-one year old Adam Carter was driving his 2003 Ford Explorer on Montlake Road in South Knox County when his SUV went off the road at 2:31 a.m.  He tried to get the vehicle back on the road, but over-corrected and crashed into a tree.  Carter died at the scene.

His passenger, 21 year old Dane Anderson was transported to U.T. Medical Center where he was treated and released.  According to the report, alcohol and speeding were factors in the crash. Carter was driving on a restricted license.

The two students were roommates living on Maloney Road.
