KCSO Explorer Post Competes in Annual Winterfest Print E-mail

Knox County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Post competed in the 2008 Winterfest in Gatlinburg over the weekend.

Fifteen members of the KCSO Explorer Post competed in five events and took first place in Bomb Threat Response.  The group also placed third out of 14 teams for Hostage Negotiation.  They also placed in other competitions including DUI, Uniform Inspection, and High Risk Warrants.

 
img_5584s.jpgOver 2,400 people were registered in the annual regional competition, which included Law Enforcement and Fire Department Explorer Posts from all over the southeast.

The Explorers is part of the Boy Scouts’ Learning for Life program and promotes on the job training for young people from 14 to 21 years old.   The Knox County Sheriff’s Office hosts the group.
